FAQ

Below you can find all the information you need once you've booked a trip with us. If you have any additional questions, feel free to email, call or text us.

Where do we find the boat?

You can find our boats at Wanchese Marina, 4457 Mill Landing Road, Wanchese, NC 27981

 

Both of our boats are to the right when facing the restaurant.

If you have any trouble finding the boat or captain, call Megan at 252-455-3304 and she'll help you out. 

​

Should we arrive early?

There's no reason to arrive early. Just give yourself enough time to find us.

What should we bring with us?

Bring any snacks and beverages you'd like to enjoy on your trip. Beer and wine are permitted.

 

For pontoon trips, if you think you'd like to swim or fish from the marsh or sandbars, wear swimsuits and bring towels.

Both our boats have a shade top, but in the summer we recommend wearing sunscreen or sun protective clothing. We ask that you not use spray sunscreen on the boat.

 

We also recommend a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt because it tends to be cooler out on the water (especially in the spring!).

We have everything you'll need for fishing. If you'd like, bring a small cooler to take home anything you catch that meets the regulations to keep.

​

Do you clean and fillet the fish that we catch?

There are fish cleaners at the marina. There is a small fee for fish cleaning which is not included in the price of your trip.

​

Is there a restroom on the boat?

We don't have a restroom on the boat. There's a bucket in case of emergencies, and we'll all turn the other way. :)

​

What happens if there's bad weather or cancelations due to boat issues?

We always keep an eye on the weather. If we think weather might be an issue we'll call you ahead of time to make a plan. We do our best to get you out on the water, even if we have to shorten or move your trip to a different day. If we have to shorten your trip, you will be discounted according to the amount of time lost.

 

We will alway do our best to reschedule your trip, however we are typically very booked and can't make any promises. Any canceled trips will get a full refund of the deposit.

How do we pay our balance?

If you didn't pay in full at booking, you can either give cash directly to the captain, or you can call Megan with a credit card payment after your trip.

 

If you booked through Fishing Booker, they are a third party and we won't have that credit card information.

 

What's standard gratuity for captains?

Standard gratuity for captains is 20%
